Description by Solved Exile(from Google Play)
Oat Teleprompter scrolls your script across your phone so you can deliver it without staring at notes. Built for video — short clips for TikTok, long takes for YouTube, presentations, Zoom intros, wedding toasts.
Paste a script, pick a speed, hit Play.
The text floats over the front camera preview so your eyes stay on the lens — the difference between reading at the viewer and talking to them. Tap REC and the take saves to your Photos library.
DESIGNED FOR PHONES
- 9:16 safe-area guide so your script doesn't get cropped by TikTok or Reels UI. - Lens marker shows exactly where the front camera sits. - Editing and playback share one screen. Tap the script, fix a line, hit Play, fix the next thing. - Speed, font size, countdown, and reading-line position are all adjustable. - Landscape orientation lock for traditional teleprompter rigs. - Local-first. Scripts and recordings stay on your device. There is no account, no upload, no analytics.
PREMIUM (one-time unlock)
- Voice mode. On-device speech recognition keeps the script aligned to your pace. Pause, repeat a line, speed up — the text follows. - Hardware remote support. Pair any Bluetooth presenter or foot pedal for play, pause, rewind, and skip. - Mirror modes. Flip text horizontally or vertically for hardware rigs and beam-splitter setups. - Unlimited scripts. The free tier covers one custom script up to 1000 words; Premium lifts both caps.
PRIVACY
No accounts. No analytics. No telemetry. No server. Scripts and recordings stay locally on your device. Full privacy policy linked in the listing.

So far, the free version of this teleprompter app is perfectly useable, no annoying ads, fully featured for horizontal users without having to upgrade. You can vertically and horizontally flip text, there's the typical font and controls for margin, and focus blocks. I like the design. It feels pretty intuitive to use. I use it with a BT mini keyboard to start/stop/rewind. There's a vertical mode that you can record and see yourself on screen, it seems useful for when I do short form later.
