Oryx Launcher

Oryx Launcher: a home screen with room to move.

A home screen that is calm, quick and properly yours. We built Oryx at HS Studio and have used it as our own Home every day while making it.

HOME YOUR WAY
Arrange pages, a dock, folders and widgets in a grid. Or switch to Arc, with your apps on arcs within reach of your thumb, for either hand. Or Blocks: every app as a named box in one calm scrolling list. Each keeps its own setup, so you can switch back at any time.

ICONS THAT MOVE
Icons spin, swing, bounce or flip, when Home opens or every so often, with any icon pack. With Auricon, our own icon pack, they also split apart and snap back together, and Signature moves give thousands of icons a move of their own: a record that spins, a bell that rings, a shutter that clicks.
Auricon is the icon pack that supports Split & merge and Signature moves. It is a paid app, sold separately on Google Play, and these moves also need Oryx Pro.

MORE THAN ONE HOME
Keep several Homes, each with its own pages, dock, folders and widgets, and switch between them whenever you like. Try a different Home and come back, and nothing is lost.

GLASS WIDGETS
Clocks and calendars made for Oryx: six clock styles, Month, Week, Date, Agenda, Today + Next and At a glance, on smoked glass that reads over any wallpaper. Widgets from your other apps work too.

EVERYDAY WIDGETS
Steps counts your steps on your phone, and nothing is uploaded. Music shows what's playing in any app, with play, pause and skip.

PAGES THAT BLOOM
Swipe between pages with Slide, Ink wash, Drift, Bloom or Crest, and open All apps with Fade, Rise, Unfold, Ink wash or Gather.

ALL APPS, YOUR WAY
A simple grid, a dial under your thumb, a page set like a magazine's contents, or pages you swipe sideways. Categories, Recent apps, hidden apps, Private Space and work profile. Search finds your apps as you type, does sums, and can search the web through your phone's own search app.

ICON PACKS AND THEMES
Use any icon pack, change the icon of a single app, and see today's date on calendar icons. Six themes: Warm Linen, Dark, Black, Midnight Mint, Marine Cyan and Frosted Black, where All apps shows your Home through frosted glass.

Most of Oryx is free. Arc, Blocks, icon animation, several Homes, more gestures and saving backups come with Oryx Pro, with a free trial.

Oryx gestures (optional): if you choose a gesture that locks the screen or opens the notification shade, Oryx asks you to turn on its Accessibility service. With Oryx Pro it can also open Recent apps, Quick settings, the power menu or split screen, or take a screenshot. It is used only for those actions and cannot read what is on your screen. Some banking and payment apps may not open while it's on; you can turn it off at any time.
