So far it's been great. Love that I can use NZ Topo Maps with the pro version. Also love how easy it is to plan routes for trail running, and it estimates time and difficulty

Migrated from View ranger with complete UK 1:25000 maps of the UK. Did the Cape Wrath Trail this April/May, downloaded routes and maps in Glenfinnan where I had data, but once out into the wilds they all disappeared when I'd toggled from tracking to looking for the next leg of the route. Fortunately, I still had View ranger on the phone and used the gpx files downloaded to the SD card. View ranger worked faultlessly for the next two weeks of the trail. Great since then in the Alps and Norway.

When I started using this it was View ranger, it was a bit clunky, but it did what I wanted and did it well. The UI is still poor, plans/tracks/routes still seems an unintuitive way of working. Where is the import .gpx option now? And then there's the map search... Most of the time (80-90%) I have to find a place on Google Maps then zoom in and find it manually on OA. More often it finds me 10 places with the same name nowhere near my search. A frustrating app with undeveloped potential.

Been a pro user now for 3 years now but have decided to not renew my subscription. A recent update prevents me sending a route from the app to my Garmin Fenix. A fix for this was promised but at the moment the only way to do this is from the website. Have now found a better alternative which is less money and with more features.

I hate this app. Even when the app is closed the navigation sounds continues until I rest my phone. Tried a different phone, same issue. Now want to cancel my subscription but cannot see a way to do so. Thankfully the card details they have has expired so hopefully the renewal will fail.

Had full OS maps with another company who Outdoor active bought, and didn't honor the purchase. Now I can't do anything unless I pay again to upgrade. I'll never pay and give them the satisfaction.

Now that standalone tracking has been removed from Wear OS, the app has lost its main advantage over other hiking apps for me. I will not be renewing my Pro subscription when it expires next month.
