Even if the official permission for account info is named "Contacts", Outliner does not and is not even able to read your contacts. Outliner just can list the Google Accounts on your device so that you are able to choose one for Google Tasks sync. If you deny this permission, Outliner works normally but you can't use Google Tasks Sync.

Best android outliner. Excellent export features, Google task sync is a plus. Another plus is ability to edit files on the PC with an old Bonsai program. A truly Superb app! Thank you to the developers for all the improvements and new features. I hope that in a future update we will be able to group outlines by categories.

I didn't expect to pay again separately for Pro on every device! Surely on the same Google account, I should still own the app that I paid for? I spent time trialing many apps and loved Outliner - until this nasty surprise. It effectively doubles the price; backup/sync was the main reason I chose to buy. What's the point, if I can't transfer my notes from the dying phone onto its replacement? (+ export fails unless the extension is typed in filename, even though already selected file type. 🙄)

Newest version 3.3.2 from October 10, 2020, archived all my outlines to my device. They are still there, but the app doesn't recognize them. I don't have the PRO version, so hope this was not done to force me to buy it. I will uninstall Outliner, since I don't want my data sequestered again in the future.

At first, enamored. As time went on I realized its shortcomings. Not a serious, solid piece of work. Many problems. Not recommended.
