ParaPass provides a wealth of quick, straightforward resources to support your learning and CPD on the move. The app is free to download, but you will need to register with us to log in. You can register and set a password at www.parapass.co.uk Once you have logged in, you will need a subscription to access the content. Subscriptions are available for £3.99 per month or £39.99 per year.
All JRCALC CPD and Standby CPD customers will be given access to ParaPass as part of your existing subscription.

As a trainee paramedic nearing the end of my studies, I found the app to be very useful in supplementing existing knowledge, by way of the interesting CPD articles and quizzes. The content is well written, and the app is easy enough to work your way around. However, I do feel that there could be a little more content overall, and more in-depth clinical detail within each article; this could replace some of the 'filler' story-telling in order to make it more to the point; after all, these are intended for use during a short 'standby'. Some of the quizzes could have more questions before awarding a certificate as, after taking some, I felt that I hadn't gained that much. The app is very promising, and it is certainly useful to ambulance clinicians right away, but there is scope for improvement here, especially when you consider there is a fee of £3.99/mo.

Used to love this app, but for the past few months I have not been able to automatically download the latest question packs. Several emails later to developers everything was sorted - until the next month!

Most of the questions on quizzes are pretty pointless, I'll give an example; "According to the National Poisons Information Service what fraction of telephone queries in 2016/2017 concerned children under the age of 5?" You'll spend most of your time on these random questions and less time on relevant information. Give this app a skip.

Before the app changed I used to feel challenged at getting through the 100 monthly questions feeling that my CPD cert by the end had value, now the para pass update is disappointing and disjointed. One CPD might have 150 questions and another 3! It doesn't update your progression and replicates loads when doing standby CPD. Really disappointed as this could be so much better and was.
