Photok is a secure private photo vault that helps you hide photos and videos using strong AES-256 encryption. Protect your sensitive media, create an encrypted gallery, and keep your private memories safe on your own device.
All files are encrypted locally and only decrypted in memory while you use the app. No cloud upload is required.
Photok is open source, ad-free, and built with a privacy-first philosophy. The app uses minimal privacy-friendly analytics to improve stability and user experience.
Why Choose Photok? • Hide photos and videos securely • Private encrypted gallery with AES-256 protection • Offline vault — your files stay on your device • Open source and transparent security • Ad-free user experience • Built by an independent developer
Vault Features • Import photos & videos from your gallery • Organize private media into albums • Export files anytime • Create and restore encrypted backups • Unlock your vault with fingerprint authentication • Share media directly to the vault • Option to hide the app icon • Automatically delete original files after import
Privacy-Focused Design Photok is designed for people who want real control over their private photos and videos. Encryption happens on your device. Privacy-friendly usage analytics are limited to improving the app and are never used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Thomas Garcia GreT. Needs a way to organize photos into albums, so I can keep my ID pics separate from other classified materials. The ability to share right from Photok would eliminate having to export them each time., currently I have to export, go the gallery, to share/send the pic, then I have to BACK to gallery to delete the export. If I forget, stupid Google photos will send the photo to the cloud. A way to 'move' photos from the phone into photok would be nice. As it currently stands photos are copied into photok, so you end up with an encrypted copy in photo and an unencrypted copy outside photok. You also can't rotate a videoa after it starts, chichis weird. Outside of those suggestions, the apo works really well, is intuitive and easy to use. Thank you for making such a useful tool.

Hello, is there a way to export all the photos and videos to a single folder? I tried to select all the images and export the images, but it only exports 300 and 800 images and video at a time, I also tried to export to a .zip file but inside were.photok files.

Works well. Please add an option to import photos in multiple folders or list wise.

Backup feature doesn't work as I discovered when I tried to restore one. No response to support email so no chance of recovering my lost files. Don't rely on this app if you need to use it's backup and restore feature.

Good app, but too many bugs and not at all stable. Can't restore backups to another device - crashes after validating backup. Backup is 600mb file. Even though same password is used on both old and new device. Tried taking the backup again assuming prev one failed - gives same error. So there is no way to recover the files now. I have a 600mb file that's only readable by this app and it fails.

No answer from dev 6 days, export is not working, you will have to use screenshot to "take out" pictures you encrypted and for video maybe screen video recorder. Export always export the same photo and bulk nothing, zero export.

Loved Photok until this most recent update requiring "migration" made it literally unusable. It's unable to verify any Photok backups I made. All my photos were saved there, and now they're inaccessible. The app does the "verifying backup" screen for about 10 seconds and then the whole app closes itself out. Made sure I'm on the most recent version, restarted my device twice, even tried deleting the app & reinstalling. Nothing works. Please help! Why did you go and break a working app? 😭
