Description
The availability of free period products in public spaces has been increasing owing to various Government Initiatives. The PickupMyPeriod App directs users to the nearest location where free period products are available based upon either the user's GPS location or an entered postcode. It allows a user to filter on the type of products available, there is information on where the products are located within the building and the type of products available. A second part of the App provides some menstrual health education in the form of flashcards. For best results download the app and press the "nearby" button. Downloaded out of interest as I am the Mum to 3 girls. And there are 2 places locally with products available so that's good to know! I do wish that free period products were available from pharmacies and supermarket too for convenience. I still buy period products for 3 out of the 4 members of my family, so it's very costly tbh.

I downloaded this to find period products near me. The map wouldn't load at all, so I can't find anything. The app said the nearest products to me were in Aberdeen shire, I live in Inverness. I appreciate that's not the app's fault but the map wouldn't load, so I couldn't search for myself. When I did type in Inverness, nothing happened and as I couldn't see the map in the first place I've no idea if the search function works.

The app is visually appealing. It's great that it doesn't collect personal data, aside from Sentry bug reporting. However, it also just doesn't work. It gets stuck. Text searching location doesn't appear to work at all, and granting location access doesn't register until you re-open the app - though sometimes it forgets it has access - and doesn't respond beyond spinning loading graphic. These bugs aren't being worked on. Please go open-source so we can fix it ourselves.
