Description
The Pimsleur Course Manager App
The best way to learn a foreign language just got better, with this App designed to organize all of the audio files that make up a Pimsleur Language Programs Course into one seamless program that lets you focus on learning a language, not juggling digital downloads.
The Free App is for customers of Pimsleur.com that have previously purchased a downloadable course, and does not come with any Pimsleur lessons when you download it. You enter your Pimsleur.com user-id and password from the website into the App, and all courses in your account will be available for transfer to the App.
The Pimsleur Method is a scientifically proven method that works very well if you follow the recommended approach of listening to one 30 minute lesson a day in order. With the Pimsleur Course App you don’t have to worry about what lesson you are on, the App keeps track for you. Imagine not having to remember where in the middle of a lesson you had to stop unexpectedly.
The App greets you each time you turn it on with what lesson you should do next, or exactly where you stopped if it was mid-lesson, and a button that starts the audio at exactly the right place. No more fumbling with print-outs of the reading booklets – the App brings up the right page on your screen while playing the audio at the same time.
In addition, if you are in an area with weak Wi-Fi, the App can download as little of the course as you need for that day, or you can download it all at once if reception isn’t an issue. Best of all if you lose your connection, or have to stop downloading midway, the App will keep what you already downloaded. You start where you left off.

Comments on Pimsleur Course Manager App for Android
★★★★★
This app and the method work great! The update lists intro lessons for each language but there seems to be no way to get to them. Is this a missing feature?
★★★★★
Love it Love the app, been using Pimsleur since they had cassettes. Volume is a little low compared to other apps but everything else is good. Great for learning a language while driving or sitting at home and writing the words in a notebook!

At first I had difficulty and then I called customer service and spoke to
Ms. Barbara. She is the best I would like to add. She asked if I had
pressed sync below library and I had not. For all those leaving negative
comments try to do that first. If unsuccessful try calling customer
service, but with a calm and relaxed voice. Remember you can get more flies
with honey.

Excellent app... You can download and use it on your cell phone tablet PC etc. Great way to keep your language studies in order.
★★☆☆☆
The Pimsleur method is too valuable to be held hostage as a tool by which Simon and Schuster may exploit wealthy individuals for only the languages deemed most "profitable." Based on your failure to develop new courses for new languages that are not deemed most profitable, it fair to guess that had Simon and Schuster always owned the Pimsleur name brand, anyone interested in any of the courses currently with only 10 to 20 lessons would've been completely out of luck. It is also fair to say that your prices are aimed at the top 5% income bracket globally, and almost completely restrict anyone not on the top 20 percentile. The Pimsleur method itself is amazing, but your abuse of it is beyond disgusting.
★★☆☆☆
Avoid this language course. There are much better options out there that are far, far less expensive. The program centers around audio recordings that sound like they were made in the 1970's coupled with a book that was scanned to .pdf when adobe came out. The app has you listen to and speak back to the audio, and then later you get some reading lesson that is supposed to couple text and recorded prompts, only they don't work together. Audio or text, but not both at the same time. Granted, I tried to get a refund after the 30 days was up, but I paid nearly $400 (with discounts applied) for 4 levels of learning and gave up in frustration after 20 lessons in level 1. A very expensive mistake on my part. I hope that they spend my money better than I did.
★★☆☆☆
Pimsleur has an excellent reputation, but this app leaves much to be desired. It stops - multiple times - in the middle of a lesson on my mobile for no obvious reason, and this after the courses I purchased would not download. Will be going elsewhere for online language courses. A shame, but seems Simon & Schuster lacks quality control.
