It's basically the same game as the first. Just updated a little. Not much changed. The original was very similar to Sid Meier's Pirates! And with the new version it's even closer, but still different. There are a lot more options for this game. Character building and more information given to you about your crew and status in general. I haven't played this version too much, so I'm not sure if it's buggy or whatever but definitely try the first one

2025... still beta after years... devs possibly gave up on it? Issues capturing conquered ships... was able to get 1 but have been unable to get more... sold the 1st ship captured... cant figure out how to heal my wounded men or capture more ships... the 1st pirates and traders is so much better. If devs are still active with this game please reach out to me. Thank you.

Dear Mica bytes I've been playing for years, and I really want to go back to 5 stars, but there is a game destroying glitch I have identified a pattern When I have all my powder or food for my fleet on only 1 ship Eventually (Usually)My flagship (sometimes a fleet member) will go into negative inventory in that item and when I sell the ship it infects the new flagship Destroying my entire fleet This hurts my ability to role play and optimize my strategy

Changed from 5 star. Since 2017 we've been waiting on the updates and still nothing, nothing meaningful. The first version was great, and I understood the direction of this version but... it's best to just start a new game or something.
