Pitching Marbles

★★★★★ I've been looking for a virtual marbles game that isn't based on racing/puzzles or bland ripoffs of zumba/zuma... This turned out to bne the perfect choice for me... What I wanted was a simulation of the marbles sport where you knock other players marbes out of the circle to win... This does this great... The marbles look great and are photo realistic looking despite being lo-res... And they behave/roll/bounce very realistically. Due to this this game is quite challenging to figure out how to win it... It's actually quite hard to figure out how to aim your marble at an opponents marble to win a round... If you aim straight at it, you will loose momentum, get stuck in the circle and get a strike... So you need to angle it torwards the side of the marble that corresponds to the side of the ring that marble is in, to (almost) make sure that your marble will bounce torwards that side of the ring and roll out before it gets stuck in the ring... Still bad luck, weird bounces, and bad decision making on your part can make you get this to happen and a strike is inevitable... I've not really played multiplayer and really don't want to... Not a fan of multiplayer games. but for an engaging simulation of a sport I never even tried or wanted to try, this does a great job... Only issues is the aiming system is very unresponsive at times and can make it so you accidentally activate the flicking controls of a marble when not even aimed at the target marble making you get unintentional misses or strikes occasionally... This is kind of annoying but is not a big deal unless you get REALLY unlucky and mess up like I did (lol!) One thing that might have made this better was if the target marbles in solo play are randomized by type... It might have made it much more interesting... It gets kind of boring to see only green cats eyes as target marbles... I found this fun. I am not really a fan of the sport per say, but this game made me relax a lot over the last few days, something I really need... It is not stressful at all to loose a match in this, which is great, because you just become more driven to win the next one, and that can be addicting. I played it all night long last night and all day long today and had fun... I like the unlockable marbles you collect during the matches... All the marbles look amazing in this... They look real, unlike marbles in other games like zuma, marble blast, etc... The unlockables look just like real marbles that are found in real life... A lot of variety to them and a lot are very pretty... I especially like the white striped ones and the cats eyes.. I had a hard time chosing what marble to use because the cats eyes looked beautiful but the uglier, more powerful marbles like the purple striped ones I unlocked were supposedly better.. I came to the conclusion that using unlockable marbles really doesn't affect the game too much... I stuck with cats eyes and did well anyway... Anyone who is looking for a good simulation of the sport should check this out... It's really the only good one besides an IOS game called Marble Legends 3D... I can't play that, don't have an iphone but this runs well on my android compatible device...
