★★★★★ I've been using this app/device for almost 4 years now, and it's been invaluable. I use this almost every day to ID ports. The infrastructure is really bad at where I work, so this saves me from hand tracing. There are multiple different networks and vlans as well and this does a great job IDing them as well. I baby it as the plastic ends, I feel, could crack easily, but the case protects it well. If testing a lot of jacks and cables you can sometimes hang the app and I have to close, reopen, and reconnect. Usually doesn't happen that often though. I like the reporting aspect of it, but I don't use it that often. Nine times out of ten I'm strictly Idling a switch port. The end-to-end testing is OK, but sometimes it's not reliable.
★★★★★ Still often used, would be better if reselecting test options didn't involve having to come out of the test screen and go back in again.

★★★★★ I'm disappointed that the company seems to have gone moribund, but the unit I *bought* -- while they were looking moribund, FWIW -- works fine, took the .33 upgrade, and continues to do everything I ask it to. It's a bit crotchety, yes, when it can't pull a DHCP address as requested, but just killing the app has solved the problem the majority of times, I rarely even have to bounce the problem, much less my phone.
★★★★★ Great tool, just annoying when accidentally turning off the screen and putting the phone temporarily in the pocket. It silently disconnects it, but doesn't show it and I have to reopen the app.
★★☆☆☆ Pretty sure these guys have closed up shop. They thanked a negative review. " Unable to recommend this product. The Pockethernet itself has great prospects and is very useful, but the company's communication is non existent (despite assurances from them that it'll improve). No communication for a very long time. No app or firmware updates for a very long time despite bugs being identified and acknowledged! Do not buy a Pockethernet. ★★☆☆☆ Just got it yesterday and I find that using the app on android v2.8a worked once to read the Vlan ID. Then after that one time the vlan tag won't select - just displays the recycle icon or a ghosted recycle icon. And I can't select the option to read the vlan tag anymore. Very unhappy about that as it's the only thing that made me need it. Hoping communications are not as bad as has been common said here
★★☆☆☆ Great except for one thing. If for example I select the DHCP test and the device does not receive DHCP for whatever reason, the test(s) won't time out. I am therefore not able to run another test. The issue isn't even fixed by killing the app and restarting it. If either have to install and then reinstall the app or wait hours until it does eventually time out.
