Description
Polar Clock is a lightweight, easy-to-use app, designed to help with the setup and polar alignment of an equatorial mount. It displays Polaris' hour angle, local, sidereal and UTC time and GPS coordinates. It provides additional help to Orion/SkyWatcher mount users by placing the Polaris in a virtual polar scope.

Great app. The polar clock shows exactly the same image and scale as my new Sky watcher polar alignment scope. GPS and sidereal time are accurate. Makes polar alignment simple.

I THOUGHT I'd found a major error in this app. Checking against "Skye" (another Android app) and TheSkyX (Software Bisque) which is a "serious astronomer" and professional astronomer level application, I found that Polar Clock places Polaris on the opposite side of true celestial north towards Ursa Minor when it should be on the other side of celestial north towards Cassiopeia. I checked all my local settings - which are correct, the app having read the data from my phone, directly. But, as it turns out, it was MY error. I don't HAVE a polar finder scope where the image would be flipped. Good job, Zsolt! It was - as Zsolt put it a "misinterpretation" of the reticle, due to my image NOT being flipped. My bad!

I see others commented about rotating the reticle. I see the setting for how precise this happens, but I can't figure out how to rotate it? Update: Just figured it out. Good use 2 fingers and rotate. Perfect!

Does not work. Cross-hair on scope does not move. Tried to set hemisphere manually, also used static position but still no response. I'm located in Southern Hemisphere (Sydney).

The display on this app appears to be in error. Polaris is located approximately between Cassiopeia and the Big Dipper. The Celestial pole is also. And Polaris is shifted away from the Celestial pole by about .7 degrees. However, Polaris is shifted towards Cassiopeia - not towards the Big Dipper - which is the way this app displays it.

The app seems promising but the reticle never moves for me so function is limited to none. Running on a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra in the Northern Hemisphere. Other similar apps seem to work without issue.
