Description

Kebutuhan masyarakat akan informasi melahirkan Undang-undang Nomor 14 Tahun 2008 tentang Keterbukaan Informasi Publik (KIP). Hak memperoleh informasi merupakan hak asasi manusia, dan keterbukaan informasi publik merupakan salah satu indikator penting dari negara demokratis yang menjungjung tinggi kedaulatan rakyat. Disamping itu, keterbukaan informasi publik merupakan sarana dalam mengoptimalkan pengawasan publik terhadap penyelenggaraan negara.

Undang-Undang KIP memiliki peran untuk mengatur hak dan kewajiban Badan Publik selaku penguasa informasi dan pengambil kebijakan dalam penyelenggaraan negara serta hak dan kewajiban Masyarakat, baik individu maupun kelompok, sebagai pengguna informasi dalam kehidupan berbangsa dan bernegara. Demikian pula dengan harapan meningkatnya partisipasi publik dalam proses pembangunan.

Setiap Badan Publik mempunyai kewajiban dalam menyediakan dan melayani permohonan informasi publik secara cepat, tepat waktu, ekonomis dan dengan cara yang sederhana melalui pembentukan Pejabat Pengelola Informasi dan Dokumentasi (PPID) di setiap Badan Publik. Keterbukaan Informasi Publik di lingkungan Pemerintah Daerah Provinsi Jawa Barat diselenggarakan berdasarkan Keputusan Gubernur Jawa Barat Nomor: 067/KEP.341-DISKOMINFO/2024 tentang Pengelola Layanan Informasi dan Dokumentasi.
