Just to bring some defense for this app, it works perfectly fine for me on my Huawei P20 Pro with the latest available Android build. Very quick and responsive and the correct portrait orientation. It initially had some conflict with Google Home, but then I wired it up and all discovery went through fine.

It is great to find that Primare have taken the trouble to address the many issues with the original and produced a stable and rather elegant app. I believe they undertook a complete rebuild of the app. The app makes the connection to my NP5 every time and remains connected without issue. For the next revision it would be great to have an option for portrait orientation rather than the forced landscape on my smaller Nexus 7 and TAB A tablet. Also, the app is a bit cluttered with default 'cast services' icons in the Source menu that I would like to be able to remove (or even add to). For a small specialist audio company to pay such attention to improving their app offering is to be commended. This makes for a great user experience.

As a basic app it is ok. Unfortunately it has some serious shortcomings. For instance, one cannot create a Playlist when streaming from a USB source. The menu bombs out after 2-3 songs playing in sequence. If one wants to select another song it would play some total different song somewhere randomly from the USB source. You have to refresh the USB source a few times before it will play the correct track. Very frustrating and not user-friendly in that sense at all. Using it on the Primare NP5.

To those complaining that this does not work with older Primare devices if it is any comfort it barely works with the Prisma NP5 streamer. Wired or wireless at least half the time no device is found, cue restarting of various devices. Sometimes it sometimes works it doesn't. When you do mange to find a device half the time it will not find my music server which starts off a new round of device restarts. When on those rare occasions a track does start you might just be lucky and get to the end before everything just stops. To cap it all the app is stuck in landscape mode and is a nightmare to navigate (Don't even try to adjust settings on a phone). Primare may be a respected name, but this is a shoddy product. Worse of all it leads me to believe the expensive hardware is equally shoddy.
