Description
privacyIDEA is a modular solution for two factor authentication especially with OTP tokens. It is multi-tenency- and multi-instance-capable. Due to the modular structure privacyIDEA can be quickly and easily adapted and enhanced. E.g. adding new token types is as simple as writing a new lean python module. You do not need to modify your network for privacyIDEA, it does not write to existing databases or user stores. It only needs read access to your user stores like LDAP, Active Directory, SQL, SCIM-service or flat files. Existing workflows can be enhanced without the need to modify them. Using its simple REST like API it can be automated and smoothly be integrated.
The Smartphone App "privacyIDEA Authenticator" turns your smartphone into an authentication device, which smoothlessly runs with the privacyIDEA backend. In contrast to classical smartphone based tokens the privacyIDEA Authenticator also allows for a more secure rollout process. In addition to HOTP and TOTP authentication the privacyIDEA Authenticator also support authentication via push notification.

The push token auth "rollout url" doesn't work in android 9 and above. Please add following line in androidManifest.xml android:usesCleartextTraffic="true"

This app is great! It works with the privacyIDEA server and with other tokens used for 2FA login into various systems! One bug that I need to mention is that, if I accept a push and after the phones gets locked with the app running, the next push won't get passed through and if you unlock the screen of uour phone I see a blank white page with an undefined error only. To bypass this bug, I need to close the app before the screen lock, this way the next push gets through!

I had an issue with this app where my device UI was superimposed over the app UI, making it almost impossible to effectively use the app. However, after reporting the problem and app was updated within about 2 weeks to fix the issue. It's nice to see responsive delopers fixing issues quickly.

While the app seems nice, it's not able to copy or export tokens, as other authenticators could, that I used so far. It looks like, it was a big mistake to use this app, and now I have to make several requests to get my tokens working on a new phone.

Just terrible. I keep getting error 905. Ok no drama. Contact support. Six months later issue is unresolved. I phone the support number get told they are in a meeting. Every single time I call the support staff are in a meeting. I email them. No reply. I am in shock this has gone on this long and this company does not care

Doesn't work on Pixel 3a with Android 10 because of toke store concerns. It says the phone is not supported.
