Proton makes great stuff and is there authenticator app works wonderfully and has a lot of cool features. The single star deduction is because I simply have questions about security of the authentication codes, and I'm not sure how Security app is on a corrupted system. I don't think that's the company or apps fault, but it's still a factor in my review

I like the simplicity of it. I like that you can force syncing with scroll to refresh. But there are a few things I wish you'd consider. First, it always locks when you quit. Maybe add a lock timer like Proton Pass? And second, it doesn't support any locking methods other than Biometric (like PIN or pattern). And finally, it may be a good idea to hide the Proton account in settings with asterisks (*) and only show a few of the first and last letters.

This is brilliant, I was using Microsoft Auth but that lacked a true code backup feature and codes could only be restored back to its own app. Also The Proton app shows the next code, this saves having to wait for the next one to appear if time is running out.

Does not work frequently the first time, but the second code works if in the US. Never works in Russia. So I am locked out of my paid Proton account on my pc because the authentication codes do not work when I travel - exactly when you need them and the vpn. This is a major failure of Proton. I tried to preempt it by setting up a fido2 key for 2fa BEFORE travel, but it failed to register repeatedly and Proton support took 7 days to respond - which was too late. Now otps don't work, I am locked out

QR scanner doesn't work. Microsoft Authenticator instantly scanned all three codes that Proton couldn't. Manual setup is strange and produces unacceptable codes.
