Went to a one of these car parks the other day and the barrier lifted straight up (didn't need to stop), I parked up, and the app started a parking session straight away, a few hours went by, I got back into my car and made my way to the exit barrier, again the barrier lifted straight up and ended the session on the app and charged my card, very, very easy app to use.

We parked at Hannover St Liverpool and the car park was excellent. Felt secure and modern. When we pulled up the barrier, it lifted straight up but no ticket so thought it was a new system based on reg. I didn't realize that because I had the app with car and bank details that everything was automatic. When we left we went straight out and the cost was charged to my card. Q-park will now be my first choice to park wherever we travel to.

KEEP DRIVING, DO NOT PARK! Q-Park Motto! The only positive aspect on the Q-Park app is NO transaction costs. For the rest it is completely worthless as it most frequently does not show locations, so you can't park. Moreover, notifications on your parking sessions (although allowed in your settings) are not send, so you are confronted with 24 hour parking charges for which you forgot to turn the session off. Very annoying! Also, the standard set license plate number is not used! DO NOT DOWNLOAD

Example of how not to develop a parking app. Slow, doesn't cache zones, requires extra confirmations on start and stop, doesn't detect movement to stop the session, doesn't save parking place, doesn't allow to set end time. The only reason I have it is absence of transaction cost.

BEWARE ! App is a rip-off.... This app costs you MORE to park ! If you use early parking in Manchester UK you will pay TWICE THE PRICE of using the car park ticket machine... There is no "early bird" discount using the app... You will not get a refund....this is hidden in small print on website apparently. I can't find it ! (20/2/26 App charged me £16 to park for 4 hours in Picaddily Gardens Manchester....advertised price in car park £8.00 ...emailed customer service and refund refused !)
