Readivu: Text to Speech Reader

Readivu reads aloud whatever you want to listen to: an EPUB book, a PDF, a web article, a page you photograph, or text you paste. Turn the screen off and keep listening on the way to work, at the gym or with your eyes closed.

Everything is free. All 30 voices, every audiobook, unlimited listening, saving to audio files. There is no subscription, no trial and no page limit. The app is supported by ads that never interrupt what you are listening to.

What you can listen to

Audiobooks read by people
- Thousands of free public-domain audiobooks recorded by volunteer narrators. Most are in English, many in German, French, Spanish, Dutch and other languages
- Browse by genre and language, search by title or author, or start from the popular list
- Every recording credits its narrator
- A list of sections to jump between, speed control, and a sleep timer that can stop at the end of a section
- Lock-screen controls, and your place is remembered in every section
- Download a whole audiobook and listen offline
- A free book that has a narrated recording offers "Listen to the narrated version", and a recording links to its text
- "Continue listening" in the Library, the home-screen widget and the app shortcut pick up audiobooks too

While you listen
- The sentence being read is highlighted and the text follows along
- Tap any sentence to jump there
- Speed from 0.5x to 3x
- Sleep timer, including "end of chapter"
- Bookmarks and search inside the text
- Lock-screen, headphone and Bluetooth controls
- Your place is remembered in every document

Voices and languages
- 30 natural English voices with their own character, from calm and deep to bright and brisk
- Text in other languages is read with your phone's own voice for that language
- Or translate it into English or one of more than 50 other languages and listen to that
- Fix how a name or word is said, and it stays fixed everywhere

Keep it
- Save a document or a chapter as an audio file
- Save a whole book as an audiobook with chapters you can jump between in audiobook apps

Your documents stay on your phone. Books, PDFs and scans are not uploaded anywhere.

Also included: a home-screen widget to continue listening, a quick setting that reads what you copied, and four reading themes (dark, black, paper, sepia).

The text is yours to set: size, line spacing, margins, three typefaces including one for large print, and justified text with hyphenation.

Recent changes:
Share a book or audiobook with someone: the link opens it straight in Readivu. Share a sentence you love as a quote. "Skip silence" now has its own button in the audiobook player. Audiobooks start faster. Closing the app from recent apps now stops the audio. Feedback: readivu@toolsvu.com
