We're Realtime Trains, and we're Great Britain's largest independent service for train times - used by millions every year. And we're back - finally - with our new app.
Get live train times from any mainline railway station, see where your train is and what's available onboard. Favourite your frequently used stations, routes and services. See train information in far more detail than any other app with our detailed mode! For the professional travellers and enthusiasts, you can even see non-passenger trains like freight and empty stock - so you can really tell if there's a steam train coming... or what's in the way.
From Penzance to Thurso, and Arisaig to Lowestoft, we cover the entire mainline railway network with live, up to date, train information. Unlike many other apps, we process data from Network Rail and signalling systems ourselves rather than just showing everything the industry wants to tell you.
We're not funded by the rail industry: we pride ourselves on being as accurate as we can be. We started Realtime Trains from a frustration of missing trains and incorrect information and are still at it nearly 15 years later. However, if you spot an issue as they do happen sometimes - let us know and we'll do our best to make sure it doesn't happen again!
Recent changes: The app works better offline. Remove detailed only stations with crs codes from simple search that shoudn't have been there. Update wording of cancelled box.

It's fast, slick and easy to use, often with platform information far before the departure boards. Add journey planning and it'll basically be perfect! Edit: still loving it but journey durations on live departures would help a lot, NRE has this!

I adore RTT as a thing and have been using it for over half a decade now. The app is good but not as good as the web version imo. I don't like the fact you can't click a station when viewing a train service to look at train times at that station. The UI is a little worse, and it's less clear if a train has left a station, but it is the same RTT as we all know and love, and I'm sure the brilliant Tom and his team will be quick to sort out these issues for improvement!

Really good app pretty much like the website which I like, but it's missing the train icons for the different trains like on the website which is disappointing

Nowhere near as good as the browser version. On web browser, for "When" you can choose "All Day". On the app for "When", it only lets you select a specific time which means unnecessary changing of the time as it only shows trains for ~90 mins. Please add an All Day option. Thanks.
