As a demonologist in eighteenth-century France, you study the world’s most dangerous forbidden magic in the safety of your provincial estate. You can summon forth a breathtaking variety of demons: some creep subtly around your enemies to confuse and distract them; some appear as terrifying monsters; some guide you towards unlocking even deeper secrets of the universe.
Now that the flames of revolution are beginning to kindle, you cannot hold yourself apart from politics for long. Every faction - monarchists, republicans, peasants, intellectuals, anarchists - would love to benefit from your power. Where will you send your demons? Will you unleash their power on the battlefield to aid or hinder the Revolution’s armies - or march on Paris itself? Will you lead a political faction with the secret knowledge that you have gained? 4.5 stars. Each play through takes approx 2hrs. The plot is minimal and there is no real romance. Luckily there are a ton of storylines to pursue from establishing a magical school to basically becoming a magical Napoleon and plenty other of things to do. I've fully played 3 different storylines so far. The only real reason I'd dock half a star is due to what I can only consider "vestigial" functions within the game like a supposed rivalry meter that doesn't play a factor unless you play a noble.

Its story, narrative and characters are all sparsely written, and there are a bunch of continuity errors. The game tries way too hard to let you do too much, and as a consequence nothing has much substance to it.

I didn't enjoy it very much, sadly. I wanted to like it, the character creation is good, but there are several problems. It is much too short, and it seems you don't get the opportunity to improve as much as you'd need to really make an impact, even when concentrating on one thing. I was surprised when the game ended, as I felt not much had happened with my character. I like many of this publisher's games, Revolution Diabolize, however, was a disappointment.

Lots of choices to choose from, but it's hard to give this story a high rating because said choices go absolutely nowhere. Plot points barely scratch the surface of their content before the story switches to another topic. It honestly just felt really rushed and unfinished.
