Causes Issues With Some Software It works if you mount the samba server yourself, specifying the IP and port, but it fights software that finds other samba servers fine (particularly pcmanfm on linux).

This is the app which has made data sharing between platforms in my home office possible. Android's "fix" for OSX not directly mounting an android anymore (which I used to be able to do with Android 4.4.1) is a joke, and every single one of the file browser apps I've tried (and kept a couple) have one problem or another when it comes to sharing files to/from other devices on the local LAN. This one makes the androids mountable like any other share, and the other devices can easily mount them and read/write as desired. The only disconnects I've encountered I've been able t attribute to network issues, not this app. Only 2 things though: 1) my tablets (android v6) are fine with it, but my phone (android v7) hangs before I can even set up a share. I sent an email to the developer's contact address a while ago, but have yet to hear anything back, which is why the 4-star instead of 5-star. 2) Mac's Finder *reads* fine but is helpless when trying to *write* to a mounted share from the androids, while the mount is functionally fine for anything else. E.g.: command line operations read and write without issue. I'm an old Unix command-line guy anyway, so I really don't care about Finder's failings.... ;-)

Works great. Good job. A little bit slow server start.

Cool app, It works with linux without root Even though app says not it works with linux without root the device. It works by default in ubuntu, if not you just have to type "smb://ip:port/" ex: smb://192.168.5.1:7777/ .. Thank you for the great app and I wish I could have user authentication too.

Doesn't work For SMB to work properly you have to be able to create a username and password otherwise windows can see it. Unless this app is assigning a username. but no device on my network can see my tablet when I have this turned on.
★★☆☆☆
Could see the SMB server from my Mac (10.9.2) but never could login to connect to a share. No documentation, nothing in the logs to help. Uninstalled.
★★☆☆☆
No way to set share permissions. No way to set user/password. Didn't work after all: Mac sees it, but tells "connection failed".
