I feel so fortunate to have learned about Sandbox right after my son joined the Army. Being able to write him letters AND send photos delivered the very next day has been great! I love that my letters are delivered with a self-addressed return envelope and stationery, so he can easily write back. Sandbox also gives weekly updates on their home page to let you know exactly what recruits are doing that week in their training. Sandbox is an absolute must for anyone who has a loved one in basic!

I love this app!!! I can pick up my phone any time of day, write a quick letter, and let him know I am thinking of him. I ordered Bible verses, and extra reading material for encouragement. He has said it ALL has made a big difference for him, and he reads all his correspondence multiple times. He shares the verses, and news updates with his battle buddies... they all enjoy it too! I do still send some handwritten letters from home, but it's a great way to get quick communication to my soldier

Great app for keeping in touch with a trainee in BMT. Works exactly as described. I've been sending Sandbox letters and photos daily via my Android phones without any problems for 4 months now. It's fast and easy. My military person uses the pre-printed & stamped envelopes to send letters back to me without a hassle. We created The Squad and now all family members can send and donate letters to our group. It was easy to change the address of Squad/Flight as well. Thank you for creating this app!

Absolutely horrible. Sent a letter 5/2/26 to my kiddo, and it wasn't delivered until 5/12/26. The other 4 letters were all sent back to me at home. I contacted customer service two weeks in advance letting them know of my kiddos address change (same base) and they screwed up & returned all letters to me. My kiddo was medically discharged and never got the letters. Letters are their lifeline. Would Never recommend this app to anyone.

I decided to use Sandbox because of its quickness to get to my recruit... however, my recruit has not received any over the last 3 weeks, even though it says they were delivered. I was prepared because most of the people in my recruits' company were complaining about returned Sandbox letters. So today... I got the first letter I sent back in the mail saying it was undeliverable. $60 is alot to pay when it's not even making it to them. Snail mail is much cheaper and seems to make it there.

Money grabbing app. Cost $4.00 per meassage to send an email note to our Basic Military Training Recruit. Received a free email postage note from Navy Federal Credit Union for a free email, but once created, Sandbox app wanted $$ to send it. As a Retired Veteran, very disappointed in this for profit app. Would not recommend. Save some money and support the U.S. Postal Service and send your troop a letter Old School Snail Mail, they'll love you for it.
