Say and See

Say and See is a picture book that spells the words your child says. For ages two and up. There is one button. A child presses it and says a word. The letters land on the screen one at a time, to a steady beat, a warm voice says each letter's name and then the whole word, and a storybook picture appears beside it. A cow moos. A puppy barks. Start with a familiar word, like "dog", and explore it together.

WHAT A CHILD SEES
• Over 1,000 storybook pictures: animals, food, home, outside, vehicles, colors, numbers one to ten, feelings, actions, mommy and daddy, and the holidays — Halloween, Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Diwali, Kwanzaa, Valentine's, birthdays
• Every word spelled on big letter tiles, always on one line, with the vowels in blue if you like
• Tap a letter to hear its name again, tap the picture to hear the word again or its sound
• Many words with no painting show an emoji instead

WHAT A CHILD HEARS
• One warm voice for every letter and over 10,000 words, always the same voice
• Never "wrong". If the app cannot make a word out, the button simply breathes again. Nothing is scored, counted, corrected or timed

FOR GROWN-UPS
• A parent screen behind a hold only an adult would make: lower, upper or capitalized letters, slow or fast spelling, full or reduced motion, sounds on or off
• The word jar: the pictures your child found today, to look back at together
• Your own words: add a name or a family word, and give it a picture from your phone
• Words in your voice: if the app says a word wrong, record it yourself and your child hears yours instead
• Listen without the button: for a child who finds pressing the hard part, the app can keep listening so they can just talk. Off unless you choose it
• Picture jars for a day a child would rather look than talk
• Works on phones and tablets, upright or sideways

PRIVACY, PLAINLY
• The app has no internet access at all
• Speech is recognized by the phone, not the app. Your child is never recorded: the device turns what they say into letters and the app never has the sound. The only audio it keeps is a word a parent records themselves under “Words in your voice”, which stays on the device
• No accounts, no analytics, no ads, no trackers, no subscription
