Convenient way to access your existing Science News subscription. Biggest con is that only about half of the content can be offloaded to the SD card ... So it can take up a lot of space. Also, the most recent update (v32.0) seems to be broken (indicates my subscription does not allow me to download or read the current magazine).

This app is perfect, exactly what I need to enjoy and gain the full benefits of my digital subscription. The whole app is very easy to navigate, the interface to find and read through the issues is clear and intuitive, as well as providing acess to past issues, which is just awesome. I've been reading SN since I was a kid in the 1990s and will continue to read it as long as they keep making them for me. It's a fantastic glimpse into the workings of the global scientific community, like getting to be a fly on the wall in all the coolest labs, lecture halls and offices of people who, every day, find new ways to explore, perceive, interact with and change the world around us. Such exciting stuff guys! If you aren't a subscriber already you are seriously missing out....

I love your website. But when I subscribe I use your android app in the magazine section I can select a word and go to the contextual menu to translate, perfect. The problem is when I select the "Feeds" tab, I can no longer select or do word translations

This is not a free app. It is advertising for a paid app. They want you to buy a magazine subscription before you get any real access. Still mainly concerned with making money rather than reporting science. Avoid.

The magazine is great, and has been for a zillion years. The Android app is not so great. It does a fine job of presenting a faithful image of the print magazine, so you can read it, and it might be fine on a large tablet, but it offers only a few affordances for reading articles on a phone. Its browser view would benefit from some browser features such as an indication of which articles have been read and less-clumsy navigation.
