Sea Pals: Korean & Global Pals

Sea Pals is a pen pal app for making friends around the world. Write a letter about something you love, put it in a bottle, and Mochi the otter carries it across the sea to people who share your interests or speak a language you're learning.

MEET PEN PALS BY LETTER
• Send a message in a bottle about K-pop, K-dramas, anime, music, books or your day.
• Mochi looks for people with shared interests and languages, often in a new country.
• Meet Korean pen pals, Japanese friends and international friends. Accept a letter to become friends and chat.
• Practise English, Korean or Japanese with a pen pal: a relaxed language exchange at your own pace.
• Letters and messages translate on your phone where your phone and language pair support it.

RAISE A VIRTUAL PET WITH A FRIEND
• Share Doori, a little hermit crab, with a friend or a group. Doori hatches after a few days of talking, and its shell grows as you keep talking.
• Your island is your cosy home with Mochi. Dress Mochi and let the things you love grow on your island.

STAY CLOSE TO FRIENDS FAR AWAY
• Chat one-to-one, or start a lagoon: a group chat for up to 6 people, including you, across time zones.
• Put a friend's island and their latest note on your Home Screen with a friend widget.
• Make a photo booth strip together, save moments from chat and keep a friend's page in the Book.
• Long-distance friends can visit each other's islands and keep their moments in one place.

SAFETY
• Teens meet only teens as strangers; adults meet adults.
• Strangers never see your birthday, exact location or username.
• Photos with friends met by letter need at least 5 messages from each person and the receiver's yes.
• Text sent to new people passes a rules filter. Block and report anyone in the app.

AT YOUR OWN PACE
• No streaks and no ads. Take a day off and nothing you've collected is lost.
• Nothing is sold, including extra reach or visibility.
• Use Sea Pals in English, Korean, Japanese, German, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, Russian, Turkish, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, Italian, French or Polish.

Join from age 13 in most countries, 14 in South Korea and 16 in Australia. If you're under 18, ask a parent or guardian before joining. You can't choose a particular person: Mochi looks for people who share what you love, and especially for people who speak a language you're learning, like Korean.
