★★★★★
Earthquake early warning in South western British Columbia, delivered directly to your smartphone. Excellent free service, could save your kid in the event of a devastating earthquake.

A shake alarm can really help you to be prepared for earthquakes as primary as secondary waves of motion do occur.better than a wind chime that has metal tubes hanging on suspended strings tubes close to each other to sound out yet this downloadable appt registers motion in a particular location to help alert and chart the intensities.
★★★★★
Provides myself & family with the information about pending Earthquakes in our location.
★★☆☆☆
I'm suspicious because the app asks for permission to record audio, and no reason is given why. I denied it. Based on how the app is described as working (receiving warnings from the internet based on their network of seismograph stations), it has no reason to listen to what I'm saying. Edit: I certainly do appreciate the efforts of the developers creating this app, my review should not be misconstrued as insulting that effort. However - The explanation that it requires permission to record audio so that a message can be left for children is not acceptable. The app itself has no controls at all. There is currently no way within the app to create such a message, no indication that this is the purpose for the permission, and no indication that this feature will be added in an upcoming version. Therefore, users must be cautious. For Shake Alarm's own good in a world where people are paranoid about their devices inappropriately listening to them, in the app's current form the audio recording permission should not be present.

It only allows me to set locations in Canada. Why not ask for location services and expand outside of Canada?
