Play shogi online for free without number of game restrictions that ShogiWars has. Just make sure to unselect "play with bots" to only match human opponents.

Favorite part of the app is the mate challenge. It's probably the most convenient free way to improve at tsumeshogi. Even though the problems aren't as high quality as the ones in books, you'll learn all the most common patterns at the very least. After reaching mate challenge rating 2100 or so, it might be better to start using books as well.

In this application, many cons. You cannot choose your opponent. If in the settings you choose "game with a bot", then the bots are rarely selected. The application does not allow making an illegal move, but notifies in advance that it is impossible to walk like this. And the most annoying thing is that if you have loss of face, it is impossible to delete your account.

Mainly playing mate problems. Also, the only app that supports tsuitate variant, which I believe worth trying if you haven't already, I know. The biggest problem is that its incredibly annoying ads. You have to watch two 30-second ads plus some to solve 50 puzzles a day. There isn't even an option to purchase an ad-free and/or unlimited puzzles premium. Also, you can't see a solution after you failed, making it much harder to learn from your mistakes.
