Shot Lister

★★★★★ I used this app to shot list/schedule 4 shorts this passed month. I absolutely swear by it. The Android version is imperfect and the UI can be confusing as certain buttons are hidden and I find myself searching and searching for things. There's also an issue with dragging shots/notes up and down. If you drag for too long, the shot/note will get stuck and you have to reopen the shoot day. Also I can only import and export to Dropbox, never to my device, but that isn't a big deal for me. The formatting for PDFs tends to be hit or miss. Make sure you remove any headers you don't need (VFX, SFX, etc.) and check Landscape. Minor annoyance-- there is no clear option to name PDFs before saving to Dropbox, it just names the PDF after the project name. Also it won't overwrite files with the same Name so you'll find yourself having to open Dropbox and deleting or renaming the last PDF. Beware the timewaster that CrewSync can be. Upon opening the app, it will try to sync your projects if you have CrewSync enabled. You can imagine the frustration of being out in the desert with one bar and having to wait for CrewSync before you can see your schedule while the director breathes down your neck. Shot Lister is imperfect, but it excels in so many ways. Decent UI; Live Mode is fantastic; Scheduling is easy; Overall an amazing timesaver; Excellent, affordable pricepoint. 4/5

★★★★★ We used Shotlister for a short vfx film and it was great to be able to adjust our day during the shoot. i would recommend putting together a fake shoot day and trying it out! Super helpful. My only critique is that PDF resolution for printing is super low and our storyboards were not readable.

★★★★★ Great features for any filmmakers needs. Making things easier and user friendly. Now I can send my script to everyone in my crew so we can all be on the same track. Schedule your Shotlist to any day you want, an efficient use of time.

★★☆☆☆ Great idea overall, very useful app. I tested it on a two-day shoot recently and found out there's a couple of bugs: ///// 1) when it was time for a note to start (let's say SETUP or COMPANY MOVE), the text of the note disappeared, the whole line turned grey and I couldn't check it when it was done, so I had to delete it and rearrange times in order to continue tracking the shoot. This situation also made the app crash a couple of times over the two days of the shoot. ///// 2) the checkbox didn't fill proportionately to the time. When a shot started, the checkbox was filled up to its middle immediately and remained like that until it was checked done. I remember it filling proportionately to the time when I first downloaded the app ~8 months ago and tested it at home. ///// Also, the PDF export doesn't work with non-Latin characters (I write in Greek). On the exported PDF, all non-English words were printed as question marks. It would be nice to see this fixed; I should be able to use it equally since I paid the same price for the app as an English-speaking user. ///// Apart from those difficulties though, it's still a very good app that helped me keep track of a difficult shoot. Please fix the bugs :) Update Jul 18, 2021: The bugs haven't been fixed, plus I tried to sync a project from my tablet to my smartphone today and found no way to do so. I tried emailing an SHL file first, but when I tapped "Share", Shotlister wasn't in the available apps to send the file to. So then I tried to subscribe to Pro so that is syncs automatically, but when I tap "Subscribe" in the settings, it takes me to my current subscriptions where there's no button to subscribe to Pro. I guess you've made this app for iOS and tweaked it for Android, but it still needs lots of fixing in order to work as expected on Android. I wanted to like this app and the idea of it is very useful, but the execution unfortunately is mediocre.

★★☆☆☆ I paid for the application for 15.99 and the application would not let me do anything. It froze on my phone mutiple times. So i thought maybe I needed to buy the subscription for 13.99. So I bought the subscription for 13.99 and it This APP would Still Not let me Do StoryBoards even though I BOUGHT IT.! It kept telling me I have to buy StoryBoards for 13.99 to access this feature. I could not access NONE OF THE FEATURES of the SUBSCRIPTION even though I bought the SUBSCRIPTION. This app is A scam and did not even provide the basic Needs I needed. WAste of Money. I Want my Money Back. This App IS MISLEADING.
