I like this text editor pretty much. It is the best text editor in the Google Play Store besides VLK text editor. Unfortunately, it keeps saying read-only text file, but that's not a big deal. However, I don't know what happened to VLK it saves blank text files only it could be that it doesn’t work on Samsung Galaxy (that I am using at present without any choice) while waiting for my Moto G 2025. I really adore VLK I used it on several different android devices without any complications. Shame!

Text documents are displayed in a clear non-proportional font, which makes them a lot easier to read. Editor is like notepad on Windows or nano on Linux. Does exactly what I want with no adverts (at least I haven't seen any so far)

Great app - does such a basic fundamental function that for some reason is otherwise lacking in Android. Although it works flawlessly from the app (open, edit, save, save as, etc.) it does not from a file manager - it shows a notification that the file is "Read Only" and gives the option to "Open Again", which gives you a list of files, from which you can again choose the file. This puts you into the editable file. Considering this is a SIMPLE Text Editor, it is a reasonable limitation.

I agree a simple .txt file editor is sorely needed, but this isn't it. I opened a .txt file that I created in Windows to edit. The issue described in earlier reviews about randomly moving the focus to the bottom of the text really makes the app unusable, especially since it happened on every line multiple times. Also, to get around the limitations of the on-screen keyboard, I tried to use a Bluetooth keyboard. The app did not recognize the tab character at all.

This editor looses typed text if it was not explicitly saved. Usually, editors resume the previous text when opened again. I lost an important PIN that I typed quickly before adding it to the password manager. It took much time to recover it. UPD I see it has the "autosaving" setting, but it's disabled by default. UPD2 The "autosaving" setting doesn't save new documents
