Description

Skeinmemo is a simple swatch journal for knitters and crocheters who want to track yarn tests before starting a full project. Record each swatch with the yarn name, stitch pattern, fabric feel, and an optional result note for observations like drape, gauge, needle or hook changes, or color pairing results. The Desk tab puts a quick-add swatch form right at the top, making it easy to capture a sample as soon as you finish testing it. It also works as a handy dashboard, showing your total swatch count, a count of swatches described as soft or stretchy, and a recent strip with your latest three entries. The Swatches tab gives you a full list of your saved swatches, sorted with the newest first for fast browsing. You can search locally by yarn name or stitch pattern to find past tests without digging through notebooks or loose scraps of paper. Each swatch can be created, reviewed, updated, or deleted, so your journal stays current as you refine your samples. The Compare tab groups swatches by fabric feel, helping you scan similar textures side by side when deciding between soft, dense, airy, or stretchy results. The Notes tab focuses on your written result notes, making it easier to review what worked well and what did not before you cast on or start a larger piece. All swatches are stored locally on your device, giving you a lightweight offline record of your fabric experiments on one phone. Short forms, clear tabs, and simple empty states keep the app approachable whether you save one test a month or many in a week. Skeinmemo helps you make more confident yarn and stitch choices, reduce repeat testing, and keep your best swatch discoveries close at hand.
