Amazing simple and basic app with no ads straightforward interface I have been using it for years I highly recommend it to anyone who needs a simple voice recorder. The best feature is being able to still record even with the screen off.

I always keep a good recorder installed in case of threats that I need to defend myself from; A recorder sometimes is better than a camera, because, it is far more subtle and can be started from a simple button press through my clothes. Though this app does not have a global gesture to start a recording (Ex: press volume down 3x times, etc.), it is still a good app, and recordings are very small (better than my native recording app even) and with quality audio even if muffled by clothes.

Unable to access storage, I've set permissions, given access to a folder on my phone, allowed usage of mic. But when I hit record, "unable to access storage" and does nothing.

2026-feb - still same old, same old. I won't waste time with this ap again. 2020 - I thought this was one of the best aps around. Unfortunately, my internal memory is always full, and I used to have it setup to record on the SD card. But last week I got a new phone. I know Google made some "ap compliance" changes and this might be part of the problem but other aps have figured out how to write and store output to the SD card.
