You know the problem: although a strong WiFi signal is available nearby, your device is keeping the connection to a much weaker, more distant WiFi network. You have to disable and reenable WiFi on your device to force the connection to the best WiFi. Smart WiFi Selector puts an end to this situation and permanently connects to the best WiFi network for you!
Advantages over other WiFi Switcher apps: * Smart WiFi Selector uses the (selectable) difference in signal strenght to decide when to switch to another WiFi The connection to the new WiFi will happen if the signal is e.g. 20% stronger than the current signal. This eliminates the constant switching - and, with this, constant signal interruption - in the overlapping area of 2 WiFi networks. * Selectable scan interval for the search for the best WiFi connection * It's possible to exclude specific WiFi networks from scan * Instant scan when the screen gets switched on * Favors 5GHz networks, if desired * Sleep mode with own scan intervals to save battery. The sleep mode can either be triggered by time or by the connection to specific WiFi networks. For example, if there are multiple WiFi networks at work, but only a single network at home, you may want to put your home network on the sleep mode list. The best switcher that works! I could never find a good switcher that worked. This one is awesome and switches between my house Wi-Fi and my extender in my hot tent that is in the woods near my property. I could never get good signal in my tent. This switcher is a lifesaver! Auto switches when I get near my house or the tent! Just forget all your Wi-Fi connections and add and connect to them within the app using your Wi-Fi passwords. Trial ended, so glad I had play points for cash, I bought Pro!

So far so good, seamless switching between different floors networks and bands, 5 or 2.4 GHz. I needed exactly this. It takes a little understanding of Wi-Fi / android settings but if you read carefully the instructions and go through all the steps, works like a charm. Key: You need to modify Android battery optimization options, so it stays running all the time, as instructions clearly say. I am on the trial, couldn't find anywhere for how long it lasts though... Will test a bit more than buy it.

Will not connect to some APs. I strictly followed instructions. It acted like it was connecting then failed with no explanation. Repeated forever. All this time I'm without any connection. I really wanted this to work.

LOCATION DATA REQUIRED TO WORK AT ALL, I was looking forward to what this application had to offer and the issues it would solve at home and work. But there's no reason location is required for this application to function.

The fact that this requires the gps to be left on defeats it's entire purpose. I want to switch to a stronger Wi-Fi signal to save battery, so of course I'm not going to want to leave my gps on which will use even more battery.
