Description
As the name implies, SonarPhone turns your smartphone or tablet into a fully functional touch screen sonar system that will rival the performance of sonar systems costing hundreds more. You don’t need cell phone coverage to use it, the SonarPhone Sonar Transmitter will work anywhere in the world. The SonarPhone transmitter creates its own WiFi hotspot and you can share its signal with as many people as you wish or password protect it just for yourself.
To use the SonarPhone App in anything other than “Demo Mode” you will need to connect to an existing SonarPhone Sonar WiFi Transmitter or purchase one of the three options yourself. The T-POD (SP100) is a ultra portable WiFi transmitter systems that has a self contained battery and can be pulled behind your boat, cast or thrown from shore. The T-BOX (SP200) is a more permanently mounted system that is mounted in a boat with access to a 12 volt power supply (not included). Or the T-BOX (SP300) which is the T-BOX mounted on its own 12 volt battery pack to make it more portable.
SonarPhone delivers a multi-color color display plus it offers a robust menu of features you will be able to “Test Drive” by downloading this SonarPhone App and play the system in the “DEMO” setting.
The SonarPhone App includes 17 language options: English, Spanish, German, Polish, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Portuguese, Dutch, Finnish, Russian, Italian, Czech, Danish, French, Swedish and Greek.

Excellent!!! I bought this to use as a depth finder on my 25ft sail boat (a marine depth finder costs twice the amount). It works great. The "dong" is plenty loud enough (get a phone with a better speaker if you can't hear it, or maybe book yourself on for a hearing test). I have had no troubles with any connection issues (stay closer to it a maybe the Wi-Fi won't drop out.duh). Yes it is only a single beam sonar.what did you expect for the price??? (If you want 3d imaging go spend more $$$)

I have used this in cooperation with Avionics for years, it Used to work well, but now, with the latest avionics update, you no longer get the sonar phone information on avionics. Please have this fixed. The sonar phone is useless to me now.

Before you buy the Velar Sonar please note that this system only works on Wi-Fi and you cannot pick up internet on your phone or tablet while on this app. So if you bump internet off your boats' system for other devices you're screwed. This means gps won't work either. This forces you to pay for extra services for your other devices. Waiting for a company to do it via Bluetooth which would have been smarter. If you use your phone only you will be ok.

Don't kid yourself this is a toy, not a real fish finder. It's very unstable and loses Wi-Fi constantly. No down scan and overall poor quality basic sonar. I realize it's inexpensive, but you really get what you pay for.
