Description by Choice of Games LLC(from Google Play)
As an apprentice sorcerer, you should never steal your master's identity. But what if that's the only way to save the kingdom?
"Sorcery Is for Saps" is a 200,000-word interactive fantasy novel by Hilari Bell and Anna-Maria Crum, where your choices control the story. It's entirely text-based—without graphics or sound effects—and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.
Will your powers save the cursed king--or will you turn traitor and seize the throne yourself? You can probably break a simple kindness curse, but there are dark forces at work and you may be in over your head before you can say “Abracadabra.”
Throw in your lot with scheming councilors, the attractive heir, or even go to work for the invaders. But whether you choose to save the king or your own neck, one thing is clear—this is your big chance!
Magic, power, or true love—which will you choose? In "Sorcery Is for Saps," you'll find it's easier than waving a wand.
• Be a hero or turn traitor, seduced by a sexy spy. • Play as male or female, gay, straight, or bi. • Steal a rival wizard's inventions. • Fight the maniacal, mechanical, magical monkey. • Power up for politics, succeed at sorcery, or just get really, really rich. • Trade barbs with your snarky familiar. Or will you kow-tow to a sarcastic ferret? • End up as a sorcerer, a royal councilor, a villain, or a mouse. (Literally. You can be turned into a mouse.)

Awesome Story Well written story with a good number of interaction. Also, very clever use of choice script.

Liking that the protagonist isn't immediately shown as some "Chosen One". The characters I like very much, as well. What troubles me is that the protagonist meets too many girls that he finds good-lookin'. The barely mentioned girl in the village, the Adriele(?), Camille, and Lily. All in two chapters. Still a good story though.

Refreshing humor, Edit: Surprised by the amount of Emerson, On my 2nd play through, very underrated story/game/book imo, Best mixture of elements of a game I've played! Good characters, drama Length is just right. I'd love to see a fallow up game!

The story was not exceptional, but it was alright, most of the time. But the plot feels often forced (like the princess asking you to pretend to be your master if you tell her the truth...). Many of the stats don't make sense (being good at research causing you to be bad at improvisation and vice-versa, I hate opposed skills like this). The skills gained from options often don't make much sense either. But the worse are the characters, who don't have any personality or anything memorable. They are just their status : a perfect princess, a wizard who is obviously haughty toward sorcerers, a servant, a scheming courtier... and they are nothing else except for a brief physical description. Worse still, after avoiding all the awkwardly written romance options during the story, I was still forced to end up with someone at the end : I was asked if I wanted to flirt with the princess (Yet AGAIN! I already refused again and again during the story, please do take the hint and stop asking) and I said no, after which I found myself automatically paired with the servant without any option to refuse. Iiiick. (The courtier unavailable as she was in prison, or it might have been her instead). On the whole, nothing especially interesting or memorable. Except maybe the ferret, who is the only character to have a personality, although a very stereotypical one.
