Soundwave tv plus expired for Phillips smart tv plus, now I have to update to version that isn't compatible. No sabos

Installed this one on my Sony X900H. First time it opened, and I could change equalizer setting. After that, whenever I start this program, the screen goes black and nothing happens. Uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times but still the same and doesn't work. What could go wrong? Should I get a refund if it doesn't work? I am looking for an equalizer so that I could make the dialogues from any movie better audible.
