★★☆☆☆ Utterly useless AND insecure. The official Spideroak app, whose sole reason for existing is to access your no-knowledge client-side-encrypted Spideroak account, doesn't do no-knowledge encryption! It's like Spideroak is trolling us all, except apparently we're supposed to seriously accept this dismal joke as being their best effort at Android support. And if you do opt to sacrifice the zero-knowledge security by letting this app transmit your "private key" credentials to the server, you still can't use it to upload anything from your phone in any way. That's right, no Hive Folder syncing, no backup, no nothing. You can pull files from your Spideroak account to your phone, but it's all read-only. This is totally unacceptable. Thanks to this glaringly worthless app, I am running a whole self-hosted sync service just for my phone, even though I pay for a Spideroak account which is supposed to securely and seamlessly sync my stuff across my devices. This app is not just a failure, it's an insult. The only releases it's had in several years are as follows: a blue paint job on the UI, and replacing the expired SSL certs. That's it. I'm open to switching services, this app is so bad.
