HOSTS
• Save servers with a label, address, port and user, and search them
• Sign in with a private key or a password
• Reach private machines through another saved host, like ProxyJump. Chains of jump hosts are followed automatically
TERMINAL
• A full xterm-256color terminal with a pty that resizes with the screen
• Up to four sessions open at once, switched from a strip above the terminal
• Find in the scrollback, with every match marked
• A key bar you arrange yourself, in rows you swipe between, from about fifty keys including F1 to F12
• A quick panel beside it: every key, your saved snippets, this session's history and the terminal's look, in the keyboard's place
• Hold and drag to move the cursor, faster the further you drag
• Sticky Ctrl and Alt: tap one, then a letter
• If the connection drops, reconnect in the same terminal with the scrollback kept; a key without a passphrase reconnects on its own
• Save the scrollback as a text file
• Four palettes and four text sizes
• Sessions stay connected when you switch apps, with a notification to jump back or disconnect
KEYS AND TRUST
• Import OpenSSH private keys (Ed25519, ECDSA, RSA), passphrase-protected or not, and PEM RSA and EC keys
• Keys are encrypted with the Android Keystore. Passphrases and passwords are asked for every time and never saved
• Trust on first use, then pinned: if a server's key ever changes, SSHdroid stops and shows you the saved and offered fingerprints side by side
• Optional app lock: ask for the phone's own fingerprint, PIN or pattern before SSHdroid opens
FILES (SFTP)
• Browse the server you are connected to, on the same session: no second login
• Download to a place you pick, upload from your phone, with progress, pause and resume
• Edit a small text file in place, saved back with its permissions kept
• New folder, rename or move, permissions and delete
• An upload whose name is taken asks first: keep both, replace or skip
PORT FORWARDING
• Local (-L), remote (-R) and dynamic SOCKS (-D) forwards, set per host and switched on and off from the running session
SSHDROID PRO (OPTIONAL)
• Side by side: two sessions on one screen, a tap moves the focus between them
• Broadcast input: type once and it goes to every session you pick
• A yearly subscription through Google Play, with a free trial. Everything else in SSHdroid stays free, and security is never part of Pro
PRIVACY
No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. SSHdroid connects only to the servers you add, and to Google Play for the optional subscription.
Up to four sessions run at once; a fifth waits until you close one.
