★★★★★ It does indeed count steps. The best part of such a simple app is that it has a sensitivity setting, which means it can count steps more accurately.

★★★★★ I installed the Step Counter on both mine and my elderly father's phones. It registers my steps as I keep it in my hip pocket, but he keeps his phone in his shirt pocket, and it misses quite a few steps. Just recently, I noticed that you can adjust the sensitivity of it, and his was one click away from being on the lowest sensitivity, so I adjusted it for him. Will see if it helps.

★★☆☆☆ Way too much disrupting ads and that still stands. What "meager profits" are you talking about? The hundreds of thousands of dollars you're making across all apps? First three or so months with this app were good, practically no ads and only a few popups every now and then. Now there's a full screen video ad with audio every time app is opened, as well as banners across screen and video ads frequently if the app is open for a while.

★★☆☆☆ Only had the app a week, was really happy with it, but the constant pop-ups to rate the app is horrendous. I like to use an app for a month or two before I give a rating. Plus the pop-up isn't easy to click off. I hope the Dev is happy now he got his rating after a few days use.
