Welcome to Straight Talk! If you are a Bring Your Own Phone customer you may need to update your phone’s APN (Access Point Name) settings. Your phone uses APN settings to identify the network it uses to access data. You must have the correct APN settings to access web browsing and picture messaging.
Sounds complicated? It doesn’t have to be. Just download this App and follow the instructions to program Data and Picture Messaging settings automatically for your Android device. NOTE: This App will work in 2 different ways depending on the version of Android your phone uses: 1. If your phone runs Android operating system EARLIER than Ice Cream Sandwich (4.03), your Data and Picture Messaging settings will update automatically. 2. For everyone having trouble using this app to fix your data, I found a solution. Their customer service is terrible. I spent an hour on the phone with them only to hear that my phone "isn't compatible", so I took things into my own hand. What you want to do is call them and have them send you your APN settings. Look under APN and save it, it should be under the name section. Go to your phone settings, click on "MOBILE NETWORKS", and from there click on "ACCESS POINT NAMES". Add a new custom access point, name it straight talk, and put in the APN they sent you. Submit it and restart your phone. Your data should work.

My data is slower than cold molasses and this app says i need a unlocked gsm phone with a straight talk sim but this is a straight talk phone!!

Data was not working on my brand-new Straight Talk device which I had just activated. Called tech support and was referred to this program, which says it is incompatible with my device. Pretty much had to figure out the correct APN for myself. This app is a waste of time.
