Travelling and spending time outdoors is one of life’s great joys. Knowing when sun protection is recommended wherever you are in the world gives you confidence to enjoy the sun safely, minimizing the risk of skin damage which can lead to cancer.
The SunSmart Global UV app takes the guesswork out of being safe in the sun with daily sun protection times sent to your phone along with simple advice for protecting your skin.
***What are sun protection times?*** Sun protection times are linked to the UV Index and are advised when the UV is forecast to be 3 and above. This is consistent with the WHO UV Index guidance and has been determined as the level at which damage to the skin is likely to occur more quickly.
The app will advise you that sun protection is required during specific times when the UV is forecast to be 3 and above so that you can adequately protect your skin.
***How is it different to other UV apps?*** The UV app has the backing of world-leading health and meteorological organisations making it a trusted and reliable source of advice.

Pretty good, but could do with the following: 1 - a widget of various sizes, so you can have UV at a glance on your home screen. I'd really like the live UV, just a number, for me to place where I'd like. 2 - UV graphs like from ARPA NSA.

Really good app and it's fast. Only thing I would wish for is a widget that shows the current UV and max UV for the day, indicating whether sun protection is required. The notification system is pretty good too though.

Did not show real temperature. Showed Fahrenheit temperature to be, Hot 37°. In settings, I changed it to show Celsius, it then displayed, Hot 3°. The actual temperature is 83° f.

Kosovo is not listed as a country, that means cannot select my location to use the app. Other locations for some cities are completely wrong and showing false information, hopefully this is not done intentionally. 👎

Gives vastly different UV levels than the same location on your website. The app says 1.9 in Brisbane and the website says 4. The app consistently reports much lower levels, which is actually dangerous. Yesterday the UV in Brisbane was 8 on the website and 4.8 on the app. It was the afternoon, and it was obviously going to be 8. How do you get such a fundamental thing wrong? Which is it? Now it's 12 on the website and 1.8 on the app?
