Description
Did you know it’s the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) radiation – not heat – that causes skin cancer, as well as sunburn, tanning, premature ageing and eye damage?
Unlike the sun’s heat and light, we can’t see or feel UV rays. That means we usually don’t know when our skin is being damaged until it’s too late.
So how do you know when you need to protect your skin?
The free SunSmart app makes it simple, by providing you with sun protection times each day using forecast information from the Bureau of Meteorology and live UV data from Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency.
Check the app each day – or set a handy alert – and slip, slop, slap, seek and slide to reduce your risk of skin cancer.

Really helpful app. Gives me daily reminder on when to apply sunscreen to me and the little one. Essential!

A widget would be awesome. Would also be good to see if the displayed UV rating was a live reading or the predicted value.

I'd like location select to be map based and/or nearest postcode for a future destination. Current GPS location is fine for immediate info and auto picks closest, so the closest on postcode should be straight forward 🤷♂️

Great app, but what happened to the widget?? I've been using the widget since I first downloaded this app, but it's disappeared since the last update :(

Lol feedback inside the app fails. But seriously - a desktop widget for Android would be nice. Even better a smartwatch app for wearOS?

Love this app, I am very pale, and I always need to apply sunscreen, this really helps make sure I don't get burnt!

The latest update is a huge mess. It's removed the widget, which I've used daily for years. It now repeatedly fails to pick up my location, saying that it can't contact the location services, I've tried rebooting and disabling/enabling permissions to the location services to no avail. Manual selection now has only got about 2 suburbs for all of Perth, and lastly, just opening a location and switching between a few locations a few times makes the UV rating go up and down... so broken! Removed

Not sure of It's accurate or not..... differs significantly from other weather apps sometimes. The representation should be in terms of a graph for the day, so we can check how it progresses for the rest of the day instead of just displaying a number

Seems broken. Informed that an update is needed... But just updated. Uninstalled, reinstalled and an update is still required. Also, the current UV always seems to be 0. So the app has no purpose until the issues are fixed. Will keep on phone for a short while but if no improvement, will delete.
