🔐 Accessibility Service Usage: Switchly uses Android’s Accessibility Service API for its app blocking feature.
This is required so Switchly can detect when a selected app is opened and enforce the blocking rules you configured.
Switchly uses Accessibility Service to: • Detect which app is currently in the foreground • Check whether the opened app is blocked in your active profile • Show a blocking screen or return you away from the blocked app • Keep your configured blocking rules active while switching apps
What Switchly does NOT do: • It does not read your messages • It does not read typed text, passwords, or keystrokes • It does not record audio or video • It does not collect or sell personal data • It does not share your data with third parties
All blocking and profile logic runs locally on your device.
The Accessibility Service is optional and must be enabled manually by you in Android Settings. Without it, profile switching and automation can still work, but app blocking cannot be enforced reliably.

This is such a good alternative to overpriced products like Brick, it's definitely worth picking up some NFC tags for super cheap and programming them to lock or unlock your apps. This app has been really helpful for getting myself off my phone throughout the day and for helping me improve my sleep schedule.

What a legend! This app is so good for an open source project! It does everything you could possibly want and more. Thank you so much for this app! I seriously believe you will change many people's lives with this. I use an old public transport card as my main toggle and have a book's barcode as a backup. Very intuitive but detailed. I love the shorts and reels blocking. This app is worth it even just for that. Many thanks

I'm gutted. Because you can not block Google app. You can just use the browser. If the app had whitelisted mode for websites. Or block the Google browser inside from being used. Then full protection sorted

Doesn't work on my phone sadly. When I try to give the accessibility permission, it does nothing. And it's written "this app is malfunctioning". Also, I wasn't able to select apps like YouTube or Instagram in the blocked list. They don't appear unlike the rest of my apps. I was really excited about this. It seemed like a good solution. It's a shame it doesn't work. I will update my review if the problem get fixed. Also, shout-out to the dev, I appreciate the work nonetheless!
