Sworn: Screen Time Limits

Sworn is a screen time limit and app blocker for Android that you can't switch off alone. Set a daily limit for any app, and when you hit it, only your accountability partner can approve more time. Built on the same usage data Digital Wellbeing tracks, it helps you cut phone addiction and stay focused.

The moment you hit your limit is exactly the moment you least want to be stopped. On most apps, the only person who can undo it is you — one tap, and the limit is gone. Sworn hands that decision to someone else.

HOW IT WORKS

1. See where your time actually goes
Sworn reads per-app screen time from Android's own usage statistics — the same source Digital Wellbeing uses. No guesswork.

2. Set a daily limit you mean
Choose an app and a number. Sworn never picks a limit for you and never suggests one.

3. Invite an accountability partner
A friend, a family member, a colleague — anyone you trust to hold you to it.

4. Ask when you need more
Cross your limit and the app stops opening. Want extra time, a higher limit, or the restriction lifted? Send a request. Your partner sees exactly what you're asking for and approves or denies it straight from a notification.

NOT A PARENTAL CONTROL APP

Sworn only ever applies to the account that set it up. It cannot be installed on someone else's phone to monitor them, and your partner cannot control your device — they can only answer the requests you choose to send them.

PERMISSIONS, AND WHY EACH ONE IS NEEDED

• Usage access — reads per-app screen time. This is the core of the app; without it Sworn cannot function.
• Display over other apps — shows the "time's up" screen when you cross a limit.
• Notifications — delivers partner requests, their responses, and your usage reports.
• Device admin (optional) — detects when protection is switched off, so your partner can be told. Sworn cannot lock your device, wipe data, or change your settings.

Android grants these from Settings rather than an in-app popup, so Sworn will send you to the right screen and explain what each one does first.
