Comments on Syncthing for Android
★★★★★
Been using Sync thing for years now, successfully and reliably syncing multiple Android & Windows devices. Simple to set up. It's difficult to imagine life without it.
★★★★★
A great alternative to using cloud services. It takes some effort and organization to set up, but after you get past that, it just works. I love being able to automatically transfer files between devices without going through 3rd party cloud providers. Keep up the good work.
★★★★★
Very easy to set up file syncing between devices such as a laptop and a phone once you figure stuff out. There are many options, for example you can set it, so certain folders only sync when connected to Wi-Fi, or a specific Wi-Fi network. I have found that very handy for backing up photos onto my laptop only when they are on the same network in order to prevent all my mobile data disappearing.
★★☆☆☆
Looks promising, but I cannot find an option to sync files from my Android device to a Synology NAS. Cannot find an option to configure an IP address only ID scan. The idea of NOT using IP addresses is fine, but excludes a lot of devices because you need a special sync thing app for all those devices. Will investigate the app more.
★★☆☆☆
Mixed opinions, I use it to sync Obsidian on my laptop, desktop and android phone. The problem is if I update Notes on desktop, it creates a Conflict and so my mobile does not get updated unless I resolve conflict (ie by keeping the desktop file and ignoring laptop file). This should not happen. Solution would be sync thing only taking the last updated copy and disregarding previous ones.
