Description
Origin The 42-Form Tai Chi is a standardized routine that integrates movements from several traditional Tai Chi styles, including Chen, Yang, Wu, and Sun. It was compiled by martial arts research experts in 1988 as an international competition routine consisting of 42 movements. The routine was first introduced as an official event during the 11th Asian Games in 1990. Today, it remains a widely practiced form, suitable for both competition training and long-term personal practice.
Kung Fu Philosophy
Kung Fu is not something understood by watching — it is built through practice. By understanding your own body first, you learn how to respond to change. Everyone’s ability is different. The goal of training is not to compare with others, but to become better than who you were yesterday through consistent practice. Ability exists for discipline and protection, never for harming others. Kung Fu is like a language — knowing the movements alone does not mean you can apply them; it requires time to understand and consistent practice.

This is an excellent app to teach the 42 form (yes, only 42 form). And totally worth the money. Being able to watch from all sides in different speeds is very helpful to both see all details, and repeat after. All features in the app make sense. And I look forward to buying part 4 of the movements, as soon as I have learned the third part fully!

The free kayas are informative enough to get a base of making self kayas, and I like how you can move the camera to see full well the technique of the crash test dummy.

Love this app. I purchased the neck phone holder, so I can watch while I am flowering the movement. This is a great way to learn tai chi at home.

★★☆☆☆In Motion· Aug 10, 2025
It is not a free app as it asks for money right after a few steps. Nice skeleton doll though.
★☆☆☆☆Mark Vincent Hiteroza· Aug 25, 2023
The fact that it demands money is frustrating. It betrays all expectations.
★☆☆☆☆Don Fletcher· Apr 30, 2025
Horrible - it did nothing but play Oriental music and had words on my screen.
★★☆☆☆Gerrit Bjalek· Nov 10, 2024
Look really good - visually - to start, but it costs almost $50 to actually get the info for the full set, and it seems really light on actual instructions or info beyond the animation.
