I used Trail app to check across all public transportation for planning and purchased tickets that are saved in my phone app. Worked perfectly! It had some learning curve due to how substation and main station were categorized. The stations are ordered in the order of arrival so clicking through surrounding stations helped to find the exact substation name.

Even after updating to the newest APRC number (a Taiwan permanent residence certificate number), a foreigner without a Taiwan citizen ID number cannot create an account using this app.

BAD. The app is very bad in comparison to other services in Taiwan. There's an issue with international people making an account. The app won't accept Passport number or ARC card number. We can't download the ticket later because we don't have an account. I hope developer will look into this. Update: Still Not possible to download tickets. PATHETIC.
