Picking up tickets from a ticket machine If you plan to pick up your tickets from a ticket machine, you'll need your reference numbers which are stored in the bookings section to view at any time.
Using your Smartcard Request a new Smartcard through the app when making your next ticket purchase. We will then send you your Smartcard in the post. You may then load the ticket onto your Smartcard at the gate.

This app could be so much better. It's clunky, buying a ticket takes multiple steps. Why can't you save a favorite and just do a repeat purchase? When at the station, getting the QR code up for your ticket, again, takes several steps. How about it detects you've arrived at the station and shows you your QR code for the journey for that day/time. Come on, you've got all the data required to make this much smarter!

Refuses to load tickets onto smart card via NFC, totally pointless to use with a smart card. I even click my smart card in the app, and it says pending to be loaded onto card. Then I go through the NFC loading process, and it says no tickets available to be loaded onto card. It's been over 24 hours since I bought the tickets. Complete joke.

Completely illogical and baffling App. Clearly written by Developers who never use the train. The most recent nonsense is where your bank asks you to approve your transaction in your Banking App. You do so and return to the Chiltern Railways App where, instead of seeing your transaction completed, you are an page with a Pay button. Hang on? I've just paid! Do I click this, or will it charge me twice? Oh I've missed my train. Garbage!

Another bug - can't open my flex ticket in the app. Click on it in 'bookings' tab and the app just closes down
