TalkingParents is here to help you coordinate more seamlessly, set boundaries, and focus on what matters most: your children.
Secure Messaging: Send messages that can’t be edited or deleted and easily organize them by topic. All messages and read receipts are timestamped, allowing you to see when your co-parent sent or viewed a message.
Sentiment Scanner + Writing Assist: Scan messages for sentiment before you send them to understand how your words may come across. Rewrite messages using professionally developed communication methods designed to reduce tension and minimize conflict.
Accountable Calling: Make phone and video calls, complete with recordings and transcripts, without ever having to share your phone number.
Shared Calendar: Manage custody schedules and your child’s appointments and activities all on a Shared Calendar that both parents can access. Create single events for things like doctor’s appointments and repeating events for your child’s extracurriculars and custody transition days.
Accountable Payments: Make payment requests and securely send or receive money, allowing you to keep track of all shared parenting expenses. Requests and payments are timestamped, and you can also schedule monthly recurring payments.
Info Library: Share important details about the kids with customizable cards that both parents can access without having to contact each other. This feature is a great place to store frequently used information like clothing sizes, medical information, and more.
Personal Journal: Keep private notes about thoughts and interactions you want recorded for later. Whether it’s in-person discussions with your co-parent or child behavior observances, journal entries are just for you and can include up to five attachments.
Vault File Storage: Store photos, videos, and important documents. Your Vault cannot be accessed by your co-parent, but you may choose to share files with any third party by copying or emailing a link, which can be set to expire. You can also download files to your device.

Comments on TalkingParents: Co-Parent App for Android
★★★★★Jonathan Strong· Apr 17, 2026
Messaging feature frequently buggy or slow. Check with internet provider, other apps work fine, then reload and refresh app, and it usually works for a time, but seems like every couple of months it needs a refresh. I feel like the support team updates things, but tells you to do things you already tried. It seems like it works better with Apple as opposed to Android as it seems my wife gets messages with little trouble or lag. One stars all around. Tell your lawyer and negotiate to use another app

I wish there's a way to set time frames to allow notification. Or be able to turn off notifications during certain hours. Also, it would be good if you could change the notification sounds from the basic sound I use.

Updating:This app has been doing much better overall, so I increased it to 4 stars. Previously I had issues but haven't in a while. The only reason I am not doing 5 star yet though is because there is some improvements that could still be done overall. When it comes to the calendar the person that created it can edit, I don't think you should be able to delete a shared event in the calendar. When edits are done in calendar, they should have original copy listed as well.

Used to have a free sub for years and now they got greedy. Unless a court orders the app due to dv explicitly then you have to pay now. This just severely makes things hard for high conflict parents. Why not make basic communication cheap 7 usd bucks a month is crazy. Update to reply from app: you have cherry-picked who gets and who doesn't get the waiver. "For court-documented safety requests, the requesting account holder must be listed as the protected party, victim, recipient, or otherwise"

I agreed to use this service because it was presented as free and recommended by the court. My son's father, and I only use it to exchange a few messages each month. Now I cannot read a message without paying a subscription. As a full-time caregiver for my disabled son, our household relies on SSI, SNAP, and Medicaid. The fee waiver process is complicated and requires returning to court for documents. Charging low-income families for basic co-parent communication is despicable. 6/16 Still no help
