Description
In pre-Christian Ireland, where family bonds and the honour of one's tribe are worth dying for, and where the old gods are forever watching, you must be as guarded as the hound, as cunning as the fox, or as brutal as the boar to survive. You have fallen out of your father's favor and are being sent along with a dispatch of hardened warriors to help your uncle quell the ever-frequent viking raids to the east. You must impress your father to reinstate your right to the throne of the Boar Clan... or you can seize it for yourself. Your father's numerous enemies are conspiring against him, the peasants are rising in revolt, his own guard outposts are deserting him and even his most trusted may be tempted to rip his throne from under him.
The Brothers' War, a Clans of Éire Saga, is a 60,000 word historical-fantasy interactive fiction, where your choices and decisions control the world around you, including characters you meet, your possible romances as well as the enemies you make. It is text-based without sound or special effects, supported by occasional celtic la-Tène style art and fuelled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination. The people of Éire whisper of a time when your father's time on land has ended, and when, or whether, you will take his place. Through politics, persuasion, battles and knowledge, you must secure your future throne… or die trying.

Obviously the main problem is the pacing and small glitches and grammar errors. Also, some minor stuff such as the existence of Scottish people which just wasn't a thing back then. During this time the people who lived in Scotland were gaelic or pictish, Scottish wasn't a term that was being used until a little bit later. But it shows promise, definitely not the best I've read from hosted games or Choices, but it's decent I hope the sequel is more ambitious.

Although the plot and idea behind the story seem promising, there are an overwhelming amount of continuity errors, grammatical errors, and logical errors. In addition, the game feels rushed and not as fleshed out as it should be. Once again, there are noticeable continuity errors that should be resolved quickly. I suggest waiting for future updates before buying the game.

First 3 chapters were good albeit rushed and had a couple problems but was curious so thought I'd give it a chance but after purchase the problems became worse and new problems arose. Lots of coding mistakes, like random special characters in places (@%&) also didn't really make a lot of sense and would often take me out of it. Also, misspellings are abundant. It would reverse itself or repeat a part too like a certain negotiation scene.

This really needed some editing before being published. I'm only on chapter 2 and have noticed a few cases of missing quotations/punctuation, not properly separating two different characters' dialogue, and missing words. Furthermore, some of the options come off as confusing. One option will be an action, and the other a dialogue choice, but the dialogue won't have quotations, making it appear as an action. You can easily guess you're speaking there, but it's still off-putting.

What an insanely promising first chapter, quickly followed up by a plethora of continuity and grammatical errors that make the game hard to understand and impossible to enjoy. Why even release this with so many issues? Was the dev strapped for cash?
