Description
Sorcery is forbidden and punishable by death. These punishments are summarily handed out by the Witch Hunters, a powerful organization of inquisitors.
When a group of corrupt witch hunters comes to your village, accusing your brother of sorcery and wrongly accusing you of abetting him, your life takes a violent and abrupt change for the worse. After you've suffered more than you can bear and endured terrible tragedy, perhaps your only option left is to become the very thing that your enemies fear and despise so much.
"The Nascent Necromancer" is an epic, 238,000 word interactive fantasy novel by Samwise Harry Young, where your choices control the story. It's entirely text-based, and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.
• Play as male, female, or nonbinary. Romance men, women, both, or no one at all. • Embark on a perilous journey, facing witch hunters, trolls, and goblins as you seek to gain the terrible power that will bring you revenge on your persecutors. • Romance the cold, aloof Tozi; the sarcastic, charismatic Tanno; the shy, sweet Kenda; the kind, easygoing Meylor; or even the idealistic witch hunter, Lonnie. • Read approximately 100,000 words per play-through! • Choose among three kinds of spells; mental, physical, or conjuration. Cast torture spells; summon flying, undead hands; control the minds of your enemies, and much more.
If they want a witch hunt, you'll give them one.

From the creator of The Mage's Adventure—where you get to play as a magician, The Magician Burden—where you get to play as a magician, Nascent Necromancer lets you become a necromancer—a magician with extra steps and only near the end of the game 😎👍. Stat-wise the game is lenient, so no need to min-max, and writing-wise, its concise and clear, light-hearted at times, can be serious when needed, though noticeably abit cringy here and there—the Lonnie confession highlights this atrocity 😅.

This is my favorite book by this author yet! I enjoyed how you start out as a regular person and how your characters experiences opened them up to becoming a magic user. Using magic is illegal in this world and heavily frowned upon: yet molded by your circumstances you become the very thing they despise. The story was well done and the ending was wrapped up properly. The characters are all distinct and relatable. Looking forward to the sequel.

I quite like this one. The characters are likeable and the story flows nicely. With that being said, the way the stats behave might need a rework. You gain stats by meeting a skill check, but that makes it hard to train ones you neglected early on and causes the others to be high. I ended the game with all but two stats (aside from Arcane, which I think maxes at 10?) over 40 with a couple over 50, which made it hard to fail/too easy. Not the best standalone, but I look forward to the sequel.

I'm greatly disappointed by the first fight, I had 35 in combat but was only allowed to fight with a '5' then why did I try raising the character as a fighting type? It would have been better to have different outcomes for different combat powers and the like, rather than having to raise an all-rounder.

Story good but you haven't fixed the lost progress bug, this is the third time even with registration

All CoG games are known to be open about gender, sexual identity and sexual orientation, by letting you be bi, gay, straight, or ace, but this one just assumes you're bi. I thought I was just cracking jokes with the bros, n then I was suddenly making out with the bro n wanting to see his dick. Not cool, I respect people's right to be gay, respect my right to be straight 😕
